We were recently contacted by one of the leading tourist attractions in the historic City of York as they were having endless problems with their hydraulic passenger lift.
The incumbent service provider was constantly pushing the client to carry out a full modernisation but having already committed to extensive works within the building a full modernisation wasn’t an option so they decided to contact UK Lift and Escalator Company Ltd to seek a second opinion.
Following the enquiry from our client we arranged for our technician to attend site the following day and we undertook a full detailed assessment of the lift equipment. The assessment was discussed by members of our repair team and it was evident that a full modernisation was not required.
In order to get the lift back into service and to give our client reliability we recommended a full electrical re-wire of the installation as it was evident that when this was done by the current service provider it was not done to a particularly high standard.
Our client provided us with an instruction to proceed with the works and from receipt of order we were on site with 24 hours and the whole works were completed and we were able to hand back a reliable lift within 3 days.
Our client was delighted with the works we carried out and as such they now have a reliable lift at a fraction of the cost that they were quoted by others.
