UK Lift & Escalator Company have just secured the service contract for the three passenger lifts at the Theatre Royal in Newcastle, Tyne & Wear.
The theatre were going through a tendering process for all contracts on site in order to determine that they were receiving best value as well as ensuring high standards of service were being maintained.
After being invited to tender by the consultant, we undertook a detailed survey of the lifts prior to proposing what we felt was the most cost effective solution for the client.
We offered a comprehensive service agreement on all lifts on site as well as identifying the need to replace the closed protocol auto-dialler system with a new open protocol unit for two way communication.
After submitting our costs to the consultant who was running the procurement exercise we were made aware that on this occasion we were not the lowest bidder, but we still secured the work.
After careful assessment we were awarded the service agreement despite not being the cheapest price, what impressed both the procurement consultant and the Theatre Royal was the level of communication received from UK Lift and Escalator Company during the whole process.
After speaking to the client it was evident that the fact we offer a local service was hugely beneficial; more and more clients prefer local independent lift companies.
