Bespoke Passenger Lift for Student Accommodation in Sunderland

We are very pleased to be working with Graystones Developments of Newcastle on an exciting new student accommodation development in Sunderland. Phoenix House is an old office block in the heart of Sunderland which is being converted into student accommodation for local students attending Sunderland College and the University of Sunderland. The client is adding an extra floor to the existing building and renovating the entire building inside, to ensure the students get the right accommodation for their needs. We have been involved in the project from a very early stage and have remove the old passenger lift on site, whilst also specifying the ideal replacement passenger lift to fit into the existing shaft and pit on site. We have had to consider regulations, the existing shaft, pit, travel, noise, speed and appearance when we specified this for Graystones. Luckily here at UK Lift & Escalator Company we offer a fully bespoke range of passenger lifts, which was perfect for our client’s requirements and also the restrictions on site. We have recently completed another development for this client called City View in Sunderland and are very pleased to be involved with Graystones again at Phoenix House. Our installation is down for April next year with the practical completion of the building being in July 2016.
