We recently received a call from a company in Hartlepool who were having problems with their platform lift on site.
The lift was left out of service following repeated visits from another lift contractor; they appeared unable to solve the root cause of the issues being experienced with this equipment.
Given that the lift was critical for smooth people flow around the building it was apparent that the excessive downtime was detrimental to the clients reputation.
Following our initial contact with the client we had an engineer on site within 4 hours. Our skilled technician was able to trace the fault back to the drive unit which had an intermittent fault in evidence and as such was responsible for the repeated breakdowns.
After making the customer aware, and providing a cost effective quotation for the required lift repair, we were given the instruction to proceed with the works.
We liaised with our UK based supplier and advised how critical the lift was to the building meaning; they were able to quickly process our order.
The parts for the lift repair arrived with 48 hours and as soon as we were made aware of their arrival our technician was dispatched again. We duly fitted the required parts and tested the operation of the equipment and the lift was returned to normal operation which left the building owners extremely impressed.
The management of the building commented on how impressed they were by how quickly we operated; from initial contact to the completion of the lift repair was only 72 hours, much to the delight of the building owners.
